Rob Weigand is experienced in Continuous Improvement and Lean in both the plant and office environments. Rob also has extensive experience in manufacturing, purchasing, finance an accounting. He is knowledgeable and valuable in situations where a company is facing challenges.
Prior to joining Atticus, Rob worked for Magna International Inc. for over 20 years, and has held many positions primarily in manufacturing environments. This included time in corporate Continuous Improvement for a global automotive supplier. Here he led the implementation of Lean Manufacturing throughout the North American divisions. He was also on a team that conducted a lean rescue of a struggling division, ultimately, preventing its divestiture. Using Lean Methodology he increased efficiency by 20% in 3 months. This division is still operating profitably in its original location.
Included in his time in the automotive sector, was several years in Purchasing. In his senior role he made decisions on the purchasing of goods and services, as well as budgeting analyzing and executing, million dollar capital projects. Additionally, he achieved, not only 3% annual cost savings across purchased items, he also made improvements to the office procedures related to purchasing; reducing paperwork and lead times.
Building upon his experience in in automotive, Rob was responsible for running a manufacturing business. Again, he made improvements by implementing e-commerce on-line purchasing which resulted in an increase in sales by over 10% in the first year. Part of his role was to prepare and assist with the sale of the business. This utilized his CPA, CMA designation as it included the preparation, asset valuation, free cash flow calculation and valuation of the business.
